Surrogacy Australia has sought legal advice from Stephen Page regarding SASS (Surrogacy Australia’s Support Service) in terms of bringing clarity about the service in relation to the Surrogacy Acts in each state/territory.
“Surrogacy Australia does not arrange, or offer to arrange, introductions between people seeking to enter into a Surrogacy Arrangement. So far as Surrogacy Australia may arrange, or offer to arrange, introductions between people seeking to enter into a Surrogacy Arrangement, it does so for free.
Following changes to State and Territory laws, Surrogacy Australia obtained independent legal advice regarding the operation of SASS and its interaction with these laws. The advice we received is that SASS does not breach provisions of these laws and so we are able to continue to offer SASS.”
